Why join WRMA Taekwon-do?

Club motto ‘ to be the best you have to beat the rest’

Mr Junior 'The Hurricane'  Alleyne opened West Reading's first and only children's Taekwon-do club in 1998. Since then the club has gone from strength to strength.   Rachel Freegard went onto open her own club in Swindon in April 2008 and is building up her class numbers.

Our students do become stronger, fitter and grow in confidence, we even have several title holders and national winners in both clubs!

Students can no longer ‘go out to play’ for a number of reasons, society has become unsafe, computer games, playstations and TV make easy entertainment.  Even school bullies can make life tough.

At WRMA you will make new friends and be given the chance to learn the true Korean style of Taekwon-do and be given the opportunity to grade, attend seminars and compete all over the UK.

Why join WRMA Martial Fitness?

No martial arts experience required, all styles are welcome.

Martial Fitness  is split into 2 classes (In Reading) for young people and adults (check out our Classes and Venues page),  The first class builds stamina and fitness - a great way to lose weight, tone up or simply get fit.  Boxing gloves and pads can be provided on the day.  You will enjoy a wide variety of kicking and punching techniques combined with stretching and core muscle training. The Swindon class is for adults only and runs twice a week.

The second class caters for the student who wishes to take part in light or non-contact sparring in the boxing ring.  You will learn self defence moves that are easy to remember with the opportunity to compete in local competitions.
